The Aptera 2e in Long Beach, Calif. on February 4, 2009. The Aptera 2 Series is a two-seat, three wheeled plug-in hybrid car. The prices range from $25,000 to $40,000 dollars and can go 100 miles on a charge. The car also has a roof-mounted solar panel that operates an always-on climate control system so the car stays cool all the time. The test drive was part of TED, (Technology, Entertainment, Design), TED is an annual conference that defines its mission as “ideas worth spreading”. The lectures, also called TED Talks, cover a broad set of topics including science, arts and design, politics, culture, business, global issues, technology and development, and entertainment. Speakers have included such people as former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page and Bono. See more pictures>>

I learned of the secret TED party just about 4 hours ago. I usually hear from drivers when security blocks them from getting through :O

While I have your attention, just wanted you to know that Long Beach has Express Mail delivery EVERY day!

PS I noticed a SmartCar.com the other day, the first ever (for me) in Long Beach. I rolled down the window and got some answers: Universal City and 17k basic.
